Obama day

Thu Nov 6, 2008, 10:05 PM
I was in New York for the Obama election day and night. Sarah invited us to go and see the presidential election TV show at her flat in Harlem. There, drinking wine, we watched CNN. When the Virginia results were released after 92% of the vote counting, giving 51% to Obama, I've had the feeling that CNN was on the edge to announce the "Obama elected" projection. And they did it! We suddenly realized that it was done: Obama was elected. He was the 44th president of the United States of America. Incredible! I was wondering if it was real! Then we went on Adam Clayton St. where a crowd was watching the results on a screen. We felt something exceptional, unique, remarkable. Obama finally appeared on the screen with his smile so warm and his breathless charm. Some minutes later, everybody was listening religiously each word of the new president. It's a day. It's a chance. But look, was saying Obama, I'll do it with you. Nothing will be done without you. I need you. It'll take courage and determination. A sort of war against our slothfulness. I was submerged by his message. November the 4th was a red-letter day, a date we'll never forget, whatever will occur. And coming back to Montreal, I've changed one of my passwords for 08-11-04! You won't know which one ! Good luck fellow Americans. You needed this guy. Now, he needs you.
